LEEX JUNIOR

Lex Junior is a Toronto-based, Filipino-Canadian producer, composer, multimedia artist, and Founder of High Aura Productions Inc, creating work at the intersection of music, technology, and immersive storytelling. Whether through DATU, Lex Junior Funk, or the Freq Motif dance music project, his work bridges worlds, melding deep funk grooves, electronic music, and the ancient gong traditions of the Philippines into a sound that is both rooted and forward-looking.

Using a custom-built MIDI kulintang system, Lex transforms centuries-old instruments into contemporary performance tools, where acoustic traditions meet spatial audio, interactive technology, and digital expression. In 2024, he received two Canada Council for the Arts grants: one supporting DATU's next musical work and another exploring projection mapping, interactive street art, drum machines, and gong-triggered technologies.

Beyond music, Lex creates immersive projection-mapped installations, spatial audio experiences, and multimedia performances through Another Planet Media, collaborating across Toronto, San Francisco, and the Philippines. His work has been featured by Apple, Netflix, HBO, National Geographic, Google, and Crown Royal, while his ongoing collaborations continue to explore Filipino identity, community, and the future of immersive art. Lex is currently expanding his creative vision through Another Planet Media, a company he co-founded to connect Filipinos around the world through music, film, and immersive storytelling.
